Pre-finals breakfast provided in USC Law tradition

It's finals morning for first-year law students. Some are cramming until the last minute. Others are wishing they'd managed to get a few hours' sleep. All are in need of a nutritious breakfast to be in top form.

In USC Law tradition during finals, second- and third-year students, through the Student Bar Association, are providing breakfast for the 1L students the morning of their tests.

"It's a really positive thing to do," said Jameil Johnson '10, 2L SBA president. "It's a chance for the 1Ls to relax and gets them some food heading into their finals. I know if meant a lot to me as a 1L."

Before taking each of their four finals, first-year students are treated to bagels with a variety of cream cheese toppings, and orange juice, offered in the east lobby of the law school. Breakfast is provided during spring semester finals, too.

"It's all about 2Ls and 3Ls supporting 1Ls," Johnson said. "During my first year, it made me feel comfortable, so I feel like it's my responsibility. And I really like the 1Ls; they're a great class."
