Inauguration Day was a historic occasion for the country, with Kamala Harris becoming the first woman, first Black and first South Asian vice president in U.S. history. It was also a special day for USC Gould School of Law alumnus Douglas Emhoff (JD 1990), Vice President Harris’ husband, who became the nation’s first Second Gentlemen.

Emhoff had achieved a distinguished career in entertainment law, spanning nearly 30 years. “As Second Gentleman, Doug will devote his time to the causes of justice, equality and human rights,” according to the White House website.
