The Women’s Law Association and the Career Services Office will host a five-judge panel entitled “Female Leadership in the Courtroom” on Thursday, March 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 7 of the law school. Featuring state and federal judges at the trial and appellate levels, as well as a U.S. magistrate judge, the panel is an opportunity for students and community members to learn what goes on behind the bench at every level of the trial process.

Professor Jean Rosenbluth will moderate the panel, gaining insight from the judges about their opportunities and challenges, their ascents to the bench and how they found their courtroom leadership styles. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions at the conclusion of the panel and mingle with the judges over wine and hors d’oeuvres during a post-event reception at the Law Café.

Panel members will include USC Law alumna Candace Cooper ‘73, presiding justice of the California Court of Appeal; Superior Court Judge Glenda Sanders; U.S. District Court Judge Jennifer Lum; U.S. District Court Judge Dale Fischer; and Superior Court Judge Fumiko Wasserman.

The panel was organized by 10 first-year members of the Women’s Law Association and is chaired by Colleen Bathen and Danielle Kudla.
