More than 60 USC Law students painted, trimmed trees and cleaned up at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens as part of the Class of 2010 Orientation Community Service Project held on Aug. 23.

The students’ efforts focused on River Garden Park, one of the few green spaces in the area. According to Center representatives, volunteers from USC Law saved the Center about four weeks worth of maintenance work.

The project was sponsored by the USC Law Community Service Affairs Committee, which organizes activities designed to help students get to know one another while providing assistance to communities surrounding the university. For information on upcoming projects, contact the committee co-chairs, 3Ls Jean Doherty or Christine Guillory
