The Koreatown Riots of April 29, 1992 were the focus of a discussion at USC Law hosted by the Korean American Bar Association Law Students Committee on April 17. The riots are known as "Sa-I-Gu," or 4-2-9 in Korean.Sa-I-Gu speakers

Among the guest speakers featured in the discussion of events leading to the riots and race relations afterward were Angela Oh, founding partner of Oh & Barrera, LLP; John Lim, founding and managing partner of Lim, Ruger & Kim LLP, believed to be the largest Asian American-owned law firm in the U.S.; and Ekwan Rhow, president of the Korean American Bar Association and partner in Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg.

"We had a great turnout that included former KABA presidents and community leaders and a diverse student body that included students from Pepperdine, Southwestern, and Loyola, including student leaders from those schools," said 3L Kelly Knight, chair of the Korean American Bar Association Law Students Committee.

Attendees enjoyed a Korean dinner and also watched the premiere of the documentary "A Share in the Deal," which featured the voices of people who experienced the riots and the period of rebuilding that followed.
