LawCapella group performs holiday show

-By Lori Craig

LawCapella'Twas the week before winter break and at USC Law, visions of aced finals danced in students' heads. LawCapella, the school's a capella group, provided a welcome study break with its second annual holiday concert.

The group regaled their fellow students with renditions of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and Wham!'s "Last Christmas," along with their own "12 Days of Law School." (Watch the video.)

LawCapella was founded last year by a small group of musical students looking for a non-academic creative outlet. The instantly popular club boasts a versatile repertoire of songs, which can next be heard during it's spring concert.

“We sing everything from Motown to showtunes,” said Dana Rueckert, the group's previous musical director.  Her personal favorite is their rendition of Tom Petty’s Freefalling.

Celina Kirchner ‘13 balances her hectic schedule with her commitment to the group.

“You make time for the things you want to do,” Rueckert added.

The group practices once a week during their lunch breaks and increase their practice hours the closer it is to show times.
