LOS ANGELES –The University of Southern California (USC) Gould School of Law now offers an on-campus Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Privacy Law and Cybersecurity, launching in Fall 2020. The on-campus LLM in Privacy Law and Cybersecurity will require 24 units of study on-campus.

With privacy law and cybersecurity at the forefront of current events and legislation, this new degree provides guidance for companies and individuals to construct necessary legal parameters in our increasingly interconnected world. Students will have the opportunity to explore the legal framework concerning information privacy in the U.S. and common legal issues and emerging law in the areas of privacy and cybersecurity.

The new program prepares graduates for leading roles in protecting business and individual data with essential laws, policies and best practices that preserve digital integrity today. Applicants to the LLM degree are required to have earned a first degree in law (JD, LLB or equivalent).

“More than ever before, privacy law and cybersecurity are critically important, with far-reaching implications on a global scale,” says Gould School Dean Andrew Guzman. “At the USC Gould School of Law, through our LLM in Privacy Law and Cybersecurity program, we prepare our students to become leaders and problem-solvers who can meet today’s complex legal challenges and make a difference in their professional roles.

Additionally, all USC Gould School of Law students benefit from professional development resources, career services, bar exam preparation and networking opportunities available from the University of Southern California.
