As with all other areas of law, traditional methods of resolving disputes are no longer adequate, and we must look to alternative strategies to resolve disputes. The question is, what are these systems and what do they look like? In the area of special education, institutionalized mediation has been required under the IDEA for years as a means to resolve disputes.
