Barry Diller to Headline USC Law’s 2007 Institute on Entertainment Law and Business, Saturday
WHAT: The USC Gould School of Law and the Beverly Hills Bar Association are hosting the 2007 Institute on Entertainment Law and Business conference, “Hollywood Fake-Out: Everything You Wanted to Know about the Entertainment Industry but Were Afraid to Ask.”
The all-day event will address a range of business and legal issues faced by lawyers, agents, producers and accountants in the entertainment industry. The panels will cover such topics as copyright updates, making money on the Internet, sports branding and the new 360 deal.
WHO: Barry Diller, former chairman of Fox, Inc. and Paramount Pictures, will share his wisdom and stories as keynote luncheon speaker. Diller is currently chairman and CEO of InterAcriveCorp and chairman of Expedia.
Additional panelists and moderators include Bruce Rosenblum, president of Warner Bros. Television Group; Warren N. Lieberfarb, considered by many to be “the father of the DVD”; and Jordan Hoffner, director of content partnerships for YouTube.
WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 27. Doors open for registration at 7:30 a.m.; first symposium starts at 9:10 a.m.; and last symposium starts at 3:45 p.m. Keynote lunch address by Diller begins at 1:10 p.m.
WHERE: Morning sessions will take place at USC’s Bovard Auditorium; lunch will be held at USC’s Town and Gown; and afternoon sessions are at the USC Gould School of Law.
COST: Free for the media. Cost is $50 for lunch for the general public, and $340 for the conference for the general public. Students pay $100 for the conference.
