This course offers an end-to-end look at the various facets of the complex real estate development process, from land acquisition, to the sale and marketing of completed projects. Course topics will include: the relationship between developers and architects; the basics of zoning and land use controls; the subdivision and entitlements process; environmental issues related to development; the interplay between public entities and private developers; constitutional limits on governmental fees; construction contracts and lending; and real estate investment deal structures.
