Incoming students may apply for housing once they have been issued a 10-digit USC ID number. If you will be enrolling in spring semester, please contact our USC Housing representative, Michelle Canlas at mcanlas@usc.edu.
Important: Before applying, please read through the guidance below to ensure your application is properly processed:

Select "Graduate Academic Year" (9 month) term.

List the "3B3P" room type in Founders as your housing preference.

Select "Gould School of Law (GNIP)" as your graduate housing program.

In the "Specific Accommodation Request" section, indicate if you have any special physical or medical needs we should consider when making your assignment. You must register with the Office of Student Accessibility Services to have your request for specific housing accommodations considered.

In the "List Housing Preferences" section, list only Founders as your preferred housing.

USC Housing cannot process your application without payment of the $65 non-refundable application fee. This fee cannot be waived. Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover cards.
Once you pay the application fee your application is complete. You have the option to continue on to request specific roommates or search for compatible roommates.

If you would like to request a specific roommate from among the G&IP housing applicants, you can form or join an existing Roommate Goup with that person on the housing application portal. Roommate requests must be mutual and you must both be of the same gender. You may later request a specific roommate in writing by contacting USC Housing. Roommate requests cannot be guaranteed.

Priority will be given to USC Gould Graduate and International Program housing applicants who apply by April 17, 2026.
Applicants not assigned initially will be placed on a waitlist and assigned if and when spaces become available through cancellation.
Once you have been assigned, you will be notified by email and directed to the USC Housing website to review and confirm your contract.

Log back onto the housing portal and view Housing Assignment. Your $800 confirmation payment should be submitted electronically through Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover cards. Half of this fee will be credited back to you in the fall semester and half in the spring semester.
In the "Contract and Finish" section, you will confirm your housing contract and agree to the terms of the Living Agreement. If you do not confirm the acceptance of your contract and make the confirmation payment by the due date indicated, your assignment will be canceled and given to another applicant.

If you decide to cancel your application prior to being assigned or cancel your housing assignment prior to confirming your contract, print out and complete the cancellation form available on the USC housing website and send it to USC Housing Services. The application or assignment will be canceled; the $65 processing fee will not be refunded.
Once you have confirmed your contract and made the confirmation payment, you are responsible for the terms of the contract. You may however, request cancellation by submitting a cancellation form.
Graduate student housing is limited for students entering in the spring. If you will be enrolling in spring semester, please contact our USC Housing representative, Michelle Canlas at mcanlas@usc.edu.
We offer separate summer housing if you enroll in our Summer Law and English (SLE) intensive program. Review SLE Campus Housing for more information. If you applied for USC Housing for the LLM year, you will be able to transition into your apartment as units become ready in August.
Students who apply to our degree program by our priority deadline will be automatically considered for a housing stipend, which is awarded in varying amounts.
As with our merit scholarships, you do not need to submit a separate application to be eligible. Students may receive both a merit scholarship and a housing stipend. Like merit scholarships, housing stipends are single, non-recurring awards credited to student accounts and need not be used for campus housing.
