USC Gould LLM Student Credit for SLE Participants
In an effort to support our incoming LLM students during this COVID-19 crisis, USC Gould is pleased to announce that students who choose to enroll in our 2020 Summer Law & English program (SLE) and continue on to USC Gould’s LLM program will receive a $2,500 credit, which will be applied towards their tuition and fees (in the first semester in which they enroll).
The SLE credit will be applied directly to students’ USC accounts prior to the start of their LLM studies and will be applied toward any outstanding balances. In order to secure the $2,500 SLE credit for the LLM, students must:
- Submit their SLE Application by June 15, 2020.
- Submit their SLE tuition and fees ($3,900) by the payment deadline of June 30, 2020.
We hope our incoming students will take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for their LLM by joining our dynamic online SLE program!
You may apply online for SLE between January 1 and June 15 this year. Please email your supplemental application materials (described below) — résumé/CV and TOEFL/IELTS score report - at email@example.com.
SLE's $100 non-refundable application fee can be paid by credit card when submitting the online application.
If you have been admitted to one of USC Gould’s master’s degree programs (LLM, LLM in ADR, LLM in IBEL, LLM in PLCS, MCL, MDR, or MSL), your $100 application fee can be waived. Follow the instructions included with your admissions packet. We recommend you wait until you receive an admissions decision prior to applying for SLE.
The SLE application deadline is June 15.
Admissions decisions are made within two to three weeks after receipt of your application. We accept applications on a rolling basis, as space is available. You will be notified via email. No admissions decisions will be released over the phone.
Along with your SLE application, you must submit a brief, current résumé or curriculum vitae (CV). If you have already applied to one of USC Gould's master’s degree programs (LLM, LLM in ADR, LLM in IBEL, LLM in PLCS, MCL, MDR, or MSL), you are not required to resend your résumé/CV.
TOEFL or IELTS Score Report
A TOEFL or IELTS score is not required for the SLE application, but please submit your score report if you have one, as it will assist our USC Gould faculty and International Academy instructors in planning your courses.
Since SLE will be offered online this year, we will not provide student visas.
Tuition for the Summer Law and English is $3,900. This is in addition to your $100 SLE application fee.
SLE tuition covers:
- law and legal English instruction
- course materials
- student services, including orientation, workshops, and academic/career counseling
- access and use of technology, such as Zoom videoconferencing and USC’s learning management system (LMS)
If you are admitted to SLE, payment is due by June 30 in order to reserve your space. Payments may only be made by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) or personal check/money order in U.S. currency.
All SLE fees are nonrefundable.
