Remedies (Fall 2017)

  • Course Number: LAW-625
  • Class Number: 03265
  • Instructor: Tomson Ong

Course Description

Litigations have been won or lost at the remedies stage, and in many cases the remedies available determine whether a party can protect his or her rights.  Too often lawyers overlook this critical stage and thus fail to properly evaluate and prepare their case.  This course will help you avoid that trap by exploring the law of remedies, including damages, injunctions, and declaratory relief, among others.  In the process, you will be exposed to numerous substantive areas of the law – such as contracts, torts, property, civil rights, etc. – because the law of remedies necessarily intersects these fields.  This course will be useful to anyone who is interested in civil litigation or business transactions.
