Course Description

This course will provide students with a wide-ranging introduction to and overview of Contracts law.  Topics to be covered include offer and acceptance, consideration, capacity to contract and defenses to contract formation.  In addition, students will learn key principles such as the Statute of Frauds, the Parol Evidence Rule, assignment and delegation, and laws governing third party beneficiaries to a contract.  Legal rules which permit contract duties to be discharged will be discussed.  Students will learn the remedies which are available for breach of contract.  The duty to mitigate damages will also be explored.  The course will include exercises designed to help students practice and apply the concepts learned.
