Course Description

This class will explore selected topics in criminal law: the sources of criminal law in the U.S. including the Model Penal Code  (MPC), basic elements of a criminal charge, certain offenses like homicide and crimes against property, as well as, attempt, solicitation and conspiracy.  It will also identify the most common defenses to a criminal charge and discuss problems of statutory construction and interpretation.
