Course Description

Legal Profession examines the basic American Bar Association (ABA) Model Rules (and relevant state rules) through a discussion of practice problems created to reflect real-world scenarios. Knowing the ABA rules is essential both in practice and in relation to the bar exam and Multistate Professional Responsibility (MPRE) exam. The course will emphasize the ethical, moral, and practical dilemmas lawyers face regarding the formation of an attorney-client relationship, competence, confidentiality, conflict of interest, fees, solicitation of clients, and lawyer advertising.
